Automotive Exports Rise 6.7% YoY. Automotive exports reach USD3.44Bn or equivalent to IDR49.09Trn throughout 1H18, increasing 6.78% YoY compared to 1H17 of USD3.22Bn. In addition to Gaikindo, rising exports demand was support to improving world commodity prices and the exports of Mitsubishi Xpander. At the end of April 2018, Mitsubishi Motors exported 400 units of Xpander to Philippines, from the 21,000 units total order in 2018. Finally, not only Philippines, but Xpander has been exported to various countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Middle East countries, South America, and other ASEAN countries. Furthermore, Gaikindo’ management expects continued positive exports performance in 2H18.
